Made the Grade Celebrations

Rising Sun Martial Arts & Sunapee Getaways support academic excellence!
Each quarter, we celebrate those students who "made the grade" by earning Honor Roll caliber grades on their most recent report card.  This means all A's and B's (although Shihan-Dai will allow one C, if good effort is indicated and if it is balanced by at least one A).

General Schedule

5:00 - 5:45pm   Special class training.
5:45 - 6:15pm   Pizza, Juice, etc.
6:15 - 8:00pm   Movie

Times are approximate.  Schedule is adjusted
based on the length of the movie being shown.

Note: Participants should wear comfortable clothing.  The karate gi is not required for this event.

As some schools have moved away from using traditional letter grades on report cards, and because some of our karate students are home-schooled, students wishing to participate in a Made the Grade celebration should fill out a Made the Grade ticket and turn it in prior to the event.  These tickets are distributed in class, prior to a celebration, or you can print your own below.

Rising Sun Martial Arts'
"Made the Grade" Celebration Night

I, __________________________ have earned "Honor Roll" quality grades in school on my most recent report card.  Therefore, I have earned the privilege of attending the Made the Grade Celebration Night at Rising Sun Martial Arts on the date of _____________________.

As Witnessed by: _____________________________________________

"Honor Roll grades" means all A's & B's (or better), or the equivalent.  One C is allowed, if balanced by an A and provided good effort is indicated.

The witness may be...
A member of the dojo teaching hierarchy who checks your report card.
Your teacher at school, who can decide if your scores are equivalent to
     "Honor Roll grades".
The person who teaches you if you are home-schooled.

Pizza Preference

On my pizza, I like the following toppings:  (Check all that you like.)

    ___ Cheese Only!

    ___ Pepperoni

    ___ Hamburger

    ___ Green Peppers

    ___ Mushrooms

Upcoming Made the Grade events will be posted on the calendar page.
Movie selections will be announced prior to the events, and are typically rated G or PG.  Parents and younger siblings are welcome to join us for the movie- with your child's permission! J Anyone who does not wish to stay for the movie may leave earlier (provided a parent is present to pick them up).

Remember: School Matters!
If you work hard and do your best,
good things will come your way
